Title 1 Information
What is Title 1A?
Lincoln Elementary is a designated Title IA (Schoolwide or Targeted Assistance) school. Our school receives federal funding to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. Title IA funding is based on census data for students aged 5-17 who reside within the boundaries of our school community. In Title 1A schools, 40% or more of students receive free or reduced-price meal service.
The purpose of Title I, Part A of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015 is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and close the achievement gap between high- and low-performing children, especially the achievement gaps between minority and nonminority students, and between disadvantaged children and their more advantaged peers.
In Title IA schoolwide programs, improvements are designed to upgrade the school’s entire educational program, and all children in the school benefit, regardless of economic background. Improving academic programs, providing professional development for teachers, increasing instructional time for students, and engaging in family and community outreach are all important components of Lincoln Elementary Title IA program
